Day 08 - Dinner on the Modi

Once we returned from the trip to Nuremberg, our program director Daniel invited us to meet the new staff and crew of the Viking Modi. The captain welcomed us on board, and we joined the crew in a champagne toast. Then we had another delicious meal, this time by chef Rodrigo. It was delicious. A delightful evening with family and our new friends Judy and Zena from Western Australia - and we’re ready for bed! We skipped the evenings entertainment - musicians from Franconia - and chose instead to wash out underclothes, write blog posts, and get ready for another day of touring. Some photos:

Day 08 - Nuremberg Tour

 This afternoon we were driven into Nuremberg, as one of the included tours. Our local guide pointed out historical sites in Nuremberg, as well as the current uses of these buildings. Sitting in a bus it is still possible to get an idea of what a city is like. On our free time, we simply sat in a cafe and ordered a cafe macchiato and a gingerbread, for about 10 euros. Day 08 - Driving to Nuremberg

The rivers are too low, so we are "fording the river" by busing to a new boat! From Passau we rode to Nuremberg, and are now on the Modi. And it's time for lunch!

Day 07 - Sausage Making in Regensburg

 After lunch, eight of us took the optional tour of seeing a saisage- maker at work  in fact, we became the sausage-makers, as Roland explained howt he white sausages of Bavaria are made - and why they’re better than the others! As we tasted our creations, they plied us with pretzels and plenty of beer. 😍😏
